Max Stelmack is currently studying his bachelors at Virginia Tech. He plans to graduate in 2022 with a degree in Controls, Robotics, & Autonomy, and then pursue graduate studies in the field of robotics. Max joined the TREC Lab as an undergraduate researcher in fall, 2020. His past work involved refining low-level controls on a 3D-printed leg. This experience clarified his large-scale understanding of robotic systems, which involved sensor integration, PCB testing, data logging, and controller design. Max looks forward to sharpening his focus in a field related to controls or machine learning. His current work relates to the development of an entirely 3D-printed humanoid, Athena.
