Carlo Canezo is from Tampa, Florida. He graduated with is Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 and completed his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2020, both at the University of South Florida (USF). He is a Registered Professional Engineer with the State of Florida and he has 15+ years of industry experience working as a Lead Mechanical Engineer for various global engineering and manufacturing firms. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Virginia Tech studying humanoid robotics with the TREC lab. His research interests are humanoid bipedal robotics full body mechanical design, teleoperation, upper body control, and legged control/locomotion. His ultimate goal in life is to develop a bipedal rideable Mecha. Outside of lab, he enjoys gaming, collecting mecha toys, and hanging out with pets and family.
